Theodore C. Fowler

Born Salem, Massachusetts, 1925.

Participated in the winning of WWII as Bombardier for the US Army Air Forces.

Syracuse University, 1950, Physics.

General Electric Company, Laboratory for Electronics, Raytheon, Xerox, Value Standards, Inc., TRW, 1948 - 1980.

Fowler & Whitestone, 1975 - present.

Entered the Value Analysis profession in 1954 after a Utica, NY GE seminar led by Lawrence D. Miles.

Established Value Analysis system at LFE in Boston. Moved to Raytheon in Bedford and Andover, MA in charge of Sparrow missile Value Program. Recruited by Xerox to build a Value Analysis capability in Rochester, NY.

Joined Thomas J. Snodgrass in Chicago in 1968 as Vice President of Value Standards, Inc.

Established a Product Development system at AM Corporation, Mount Prospect, IL, 1972. Established a Value Analysis system at TRW in Dayton, OH, 1975.

Established Fowler & Whitestone, 1974. Since that time, guided over 100 organizations in the establishment of Value Analysis systems and trained over 8,000 in the use of the Value Analysis methods.

Founding member of SAVE. CVS since 1973 and Fellow since 1982. Awards earned from SAVE include Outstanding Chapter, 1967, Paper of the Year, 1993 and SAVE Founders Award, 2001. Chapter offices held were Paul Revere President, 1966-67, Director, Metropolitan Chicago, 1973-79 and Director, Roger Morgan, 1980-1999. SAVE Director Technological Advancement, 1991-95. Presently Director, Ohio Valley Chapter.

SAVE Board of Director positions: Secretary, 1968, Executive Vice President, 1969, Vice President, Education 1994-98. Attended all SAVE conferences since 1962. In addition, served the Miles Value Foundation as Secretary since 1995.

Publications: 18 SAVE Proceedings papers and Value World articles since 1966. Value Analysis in Design (CD), Fowler & Whitestone, Dayton, OH, 2000 (originally Van Nostrand Reinhold, NY, 1990.)
