Mary Ann W. Lewis
Mary Ann holds a B.A. in Political Science from Regis College, Weston, Massachusetts.
Mary Ann is a founder and principal of Lewis & Zimmerman Associates, Inc., a 20-year-old consulting engineering and management firm, and its program/construction management affiliates, the Construction Dynamics Group, Inc., and CDG International Ltd. Her experience includes 25 years in the field of value improving practices (VIP) including value engineering (VE), process simplification, and constructibility reviews.
Prior to this, she worked for two congressmen in the U.S. House of Representatives. Mary Ann was the principal author of ASTM E 1699, Standard Practice for Performing Value Analysis (VA) of Buildings and Building Systems.
She is a director and the chairman of the Lawrence D. Miles Value Foundation. She is SAVE International's Federal Government Liaison and chairs the National Capital Chapter's Congressional Liaison Committee. Mary Ann was the catalyst for the inclusion of value engineering regulations in the Clean Water Act of 1981, which formalized the application of VE to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grant-funded projects over $10 million.
Ms. Lewis was also SAVE's Vice President-Marketing from 1999-2001. She is a member of the Water Environment Federation and the U.S. Green Building Council.
