The Miles Value Foundation (MVF) was created in 1977 to promote and fund the development of educational programs, new applications, and a research library for the study of the Value Methodology (VM). VM includes the applications known as
Value Analysis, Value Engineering, and Value Management. The MVF accomplishes its mission by:

• Promoting public awareness of the Value Methodology through publications, multimedia programs, and technology transfer programs
• Offering practical and innovative applications of VM in business and government
• Developing and teaching courses in the value principles and methodology at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels
• Encouraging professionals and students to undertake research and development of value-related applications and programs through scholarships and grants programs.

Foundation Receives Golden Shears Award At the recent Congressional Education Reception held in the Caucas Room of the Cannon House Office Building Representatives James Moran (VA-7) and Thomas Petri (WI-6) presented Foundation President Don Parker with the Golden Shears Award. Don, in his acceptance, remarked that this award recognizes all the contributions and donations to the Foundation in both money and thousands of hours of labor over the past 30 years. Thank you to all!

Next MVF Board Meeting The next Foundation Board meeting will be held in Goodyear, Arizona - just outside of Phoenix. The date is November 7, 2009. If you are planning to attend please send us an e-mail as we will be hosting a get-together on Friday evening prior to the meeting. New Foundation Chairman Mary Ann Lewis stepped down as Chairman after a decade of splendid service. Jim Rains was elected as our new Chairman after having served many years as our Treasurer. Jim Vickers will now serve as Foundation Treasurer and also our Acting Vice President of Program Operations. 2008-2009 MVF Annual Report Our latest annual report is now available on-line - 2008-2009 Annual Report New Lawrence D. Miles Legacy Production For those who want to present a short history of Larry Miles and his legacy of the value methodology the Foundation has just released a 9 minute color power point narrated presentation with music.  This is available on a self-starting CD from the Foundation.
